Lincoln Passes On a More Lightweight SUV

About a month ago, Lincoln unveiled its 2018 Lincoln Navigator SUV to the general public. Not only does this SUV excel in spaciousness and luxurious comfort, like other Lincoln SUVs, this particular SUV now has a body made of aluminum.

With this body redesign, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is about 200 pounds lighter than previous models. When you add in the 450-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine, you have yourself a much faster and more agile SUV that's ready for the open road ahead.

Let There Be Light!

The headlights of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator were also changed to speed-dependent adaptive lighting. With these new headlights, the road around you will be illuminated at a wider angle when driving at slower speeds giving you a lot more visibility when driving through suburbs and heavily-residential areas. As you accelerate, the headlights form a narrower beam to help reduce and eliminate glare from street signs and other reflective surfaces.
